A qualified Electrical Engineer and a certified Instrument and Control Engineer with over 13 years of experience working in the mineral processing industry particularly copper concentrator, gold-silver, and nickel extraction/concentration process plants. Has strong leadership ability and diverse range of technical skills in Reliability Centered Maintenance of mineral Process Plants specialized in Electrical and Instrumentation Systems. Phu Bia Mining Limited, Houayxai Gold-Silver Operations, Laos

Role:

  • Senior Supervisor, reporting to the fixed plant maintenance Superintendent. Responsible for the maintenance of LV and HV electrical installations, and instrumentation assets in gold-silver concentration plant to ensure tasks are executed safely, equipment maintained to maximum availability and reliability.
  • Provide field technical support in performing electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Develop and Improve the skills of Lao national workforce by providing hands-on training, mentoring and coaching in order to be competent in all aspect of maintenance activities, increase maintenance effectiveness, improve maintenance efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement changes in best maintenance practices order to reduce cost 
  • Support cost reduction through continuous improvement and improvement in maintenance best practices. Develop maintenance procedures and create parts list for routine jobs.
  • Develop daily, weekly work plan and look-ahead schedules together with maintenance Planning Team and ensure available manning workloads are optimized.

Selected achievements:

  • Created easy-to-follow troubleshooting procedures resulting in 40% reduction in fault finding time.
  • Developed On-Condition Based Maintenance check sheets / procedures that increased the effectiveness of equipment condition monitoring by picking up potential failures in electrical and instrumentation assets.
  • Created procedure for conveyor belt weightometer calibration that resulted in 20% reduction in calibration time, and more reliable calibration result.
  • Managed multiple leadership teams during as Shutdown Coordinator role during major maintenance turn-around shutdowns year-on-year that resulted to zero safety incident.

Role:

  • Upgraded the UPS capacities in Motor Control Centers to minimum of 4 hours run-time that resulted in 50% reduction of plant re-start time delays caused by under-rated old UPSs.
  • Modified the configuration of Temperature Transmitters in all Air Blowers for Floatation Circuits that resulted in 100% elimination of recurring failure of temperature transmitter heads.
  • Acting Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent role. Able to manage multi-discipline teams.
  • Consistently achieved ‘Exceeded Expectation’ rating in my annual performance review 4 years in a row.

E&I ENGINEERING SENIOR SUPERVISOR,                      February 2008 – August 2014

Coral Bay Nickel Corporation, Palawan, Philippines

Role: Reporting to the Engineering Coordinator. Responsible for managing E&I aspect of capital projects.

Selected achievements:

  • Successfully managed and completed an average of 15 projects per year with budget ranging from $100k to $500M on time and within budget.
  • Developed skills in DCS Programming through self-studying and has improved later on through formal training, which eventually resulted in annual cost savings of $120k by creating DCS programs in-house instead of sourcing out for external Control Engineering services.
