i have been working as a clinical laboratory scientist for about 4 years now in St luke‘s medical center Global city - philippines, i was a senior phlebotomist and now i am senior bloodbanker

· Checks request, specimen needed and verifies patient identification against the request form ensures proper labelling of specimen received.
· Runs controls specimen prior to analysis and reports any deviation / equipment malfunction to the Chief Medical Technologist
· Performs pre-screening of blood donors prior to serological screening.
· Performs phlebotomy on qualified donors
· Performs APHERESIS procedures (platelet donation, therapeutic plasma exchange and stem
cell collection)
· Performs Serologic Blood Screening
· Performs Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing (NAT)
· Prepares policies and standard operating procedures.
· Conducts Regular Inventory of Blood Units
· Conducts Reagent Inventory
· Conducts daily maintenance of equipments and other instruments within the section according to the laboratory standards.
· Troubleshoots technical problem according to machine’s manual instruction.
· Performs requested blood bank procedure based on standard operating procedures such as:
· Blood Typing, Elution, Phenotyping
· Antibody Screening
· Adsorption
· Blood Crossmatching
· Antibody Identification
· Antibody Titer
· Direct Antiglobulin Test
· Indirect Antiglobulin Test
· Cold Agglutinin Test
· Blood Component Processing
· Blood Irradiation
· Blood Transfusion Reaction Investigation
· “EMERGENCY” releasing of Blood
