FIELD OPERATOR • SAFETECH POWER SERVICES CORPORATION JUNE 2020 - PRESENT

• Coordinate and communicate with Control Room Engineer in plant start-up and shutdown of Boiler, Turbine and its auxiliary equipment following the established SOPs in the field.
• Responsible in close coordination with Control Room Engineer during plant system abnormality and plant emergency shutdown to ensure that there is no further damage of the plant system equipment and its auxiliaries.
• Coordinate with Control Room Engineer during actual change-over of major plant equipment & system auxiliaries in accordance of the established routine schedule activity based on equipment SOP.
• Fill up log sheets and take readings at pre-determined interval in each shift from charts, meters, gauges and instruments of all running auxiliary equipment outside of the plant control room.
• Responsible to report promptly and inform the Shift Supervisor & Control Room Engineer for any deviation and abnormalities found in the system like defective valves and gauges, leaking and local alarms in the field and seek immediate assistance from maintenance personnel if problem at hand cannot be fix.
• Monitor and inspect auxiliary equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems and initiate initial assessment and/or troubleshooting of malfunctioned equipment during operation.
• Responsible in servicing of suction strainers and filters in case differential pressure (DP) of the running auxiliary equipment is high and conduct lubrication on auxiliary parts, replaces damage strainers and filters.
• Ensuring that all auxiliary system equipment is kept in proper working conditions and within equipment parameters.
• Inspect records and logbook entries and communicate with other plant personnel in order to assess equipment operating status.
• Collect water, coal, bottom ash and fly ash samples for laboratory analyses.
• Communicate and perform Lock Out and Tag out (LOTO) in HV/LV MCC in mechanical isolation of the system in the field to be replaced under maintenance and normalization of which before putting back into service.
• Regulate equipment operations and conditions such as water levels, pressure and temperatures based on data from recording and indicating instruments or from computers or PLC.
• Open and close valves and switches in sequence upon signals from other workers to start or shutdown auxiliary units.
• Always maintain good housekeeping & practices within its area of concern.
• Performs other function as may be assigned from time to tome such as but not limited to tasks related to the job; projects and other improvement activities within the department or in coordination with other sections, functions of the position/s if undergoing multi-skilling or cross training, and other committee functions in case designated.

• Assist the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor to establish, review and update Water Treatment Plant procedures to ensure applicability to the actual operation.
• Conduct regular inventory of chemicals, filters, spare parts and all other supplies needed in the operation of the water treatment plant
• Accomplish the operation log sheets at pre-determined interval at each shift for actual flow rates, differential pressure indications, tank levels, chemical flows and usages, and other important water parameters such as silica, conductivity, pH, etc.
• Assist the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor to monitor and review Water Treatment Plant log sheets whether all values are within the standard limits.
• Initiate troubleshooting of malfunctioned equipment during operation of each shift without waiting for maintenance personnel to arrive. Inform promptly Shift Superintendent/WTP Supervisor and seek immediate assistance from maintenance personnel if problems at hand cannot be fixed alone through work/repair request.
• Prepare and Top-up chemicals in the day tanks in accordance to Quality, Environment and Safety and Health objectives.
• Report promptly to immediate superior all problems observed & encountered during the shift.
• Perform minor maintenance activities for water and waste water treatment plant to ensure excellent performance during operations.
• Mathematical and analytical skills in problem solving and troubleshooting of Water Treatment Plant operational problems.
• Ability to generate reports using Microsoft Office applications or similar software application.
• Ability to communicate using different media such as email, radio and telephone.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning, spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
