As a WCAB Paralegal provides comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys handling California workers’ compensation matters before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB). The role involves managing case files from inception through resolution, including preparing and filing Applications for Adjudication of Claim, Declarations of Readiness to Proceed, Compromise and Release agreements, Stipulations with Request for Award, petitions, objections, and other WCAB pleadings through the EAMS system. Tracks deadlines, hearings, and benefit payments, maintains organized electronic and physical files, and ensures compliance with WCAB rules and procedural requirements. Responsible with coordinating with clients regarding medical treatment and benefits, requesting and reviewing medical records, communicating with insurance adjusters and defense counsel, and assisting attorneys with hearing preparation, including organizing exhibits and drafting case summaries. Has strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation procedures, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a deadline-driven environment.
