A Forklift Operator safely operates industrial vehicles to move, load, and unload materials, pallets, and products within a warehouse, factory, or storage facility. Key responsibilities include inspecting equipment, adhering to OSHA safety standards, tracking inventory using RF scanners, and preparing goods for shipment.
Material Handling: Load, unload, stack, and move products/raw materials using sit-down or stand-up forklifts.
Safety & Maintenance: Perform daily, pre-operational checks on equipment (e.g., oil, water levels) and report malfunctions.
Qualifications/Requirements
- At least High School Graduate or equivalent
- A Professional Driver's License (often with Restriction Code 12 or equivalent)
- A valid Heavy Equipment Operation (Forklift) NC II certificate
- Completion of specialized forklift operator training, covering safety, maintenance, and handling.
- Strong spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and technical knowledge of machinery.
