HVAC Engineer/Technician - Muntinlupa City - Prime Energy

Purpose:

To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Prime Energy facilities by performing preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance on HVAC System in the plant. The HVAC Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining asset integrity, minimizing equipment downtime, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. This position upholds Prime Energy's safety culture and operational standards while contributing technical expertise and leadership in support of offshore/onshore maintenance and production goals.

THE ROLE

Safety Compliance and Quality Assurance:

• Compliance with all HSE rules especially lifesaving rules (LSR), site procedures, and permit-to-work (PTW) systems.
• Compliance to permit to work system as permit originator (PO) or person-in-charge of worksite (PICWS) and/or participate in toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), risk assessments, and safety drills.
• Timely identification, reporting and provision of mitigation to site or work hazards, near misses, and unsafe acts or conditions.
• Ensure use of correct PPE, tools, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during work.
• Maintain a personal and team commitment to Zero Harm safety culture.
• Member of Emergency response team
• Commitment to quality output and first-time right principle
• Compliant to COMPANY quality manual, work procedures, inspection and test plans, and checklists
• Timely reporting and recording of activity reports especially quality related incidents

HVAC Engineer:

• Maintenance Work Preparation of assigned Work Orders (WO):

1. Effective work preparation and timely planning for simple to medium complexity work orders (WO)
2. Provides complete documentation (e.g., work packs, JHA, method statements, GANTT charts, etc.) to ensure first-time-right and safe execution and in compliance with MIAPS Nomination and Activity Readiness Criteria
3. Facilitates Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), Implementation Plan on Paper (IPOPs) and conduct site surveys, as required
4. Targeting executability within the specified Basic Start Dates (BSD) and eligibility for nomination into Integrated Activity Planning and scheduler's lookahead before their Latest Allowable Finish Dates (LAFD)
5. Raise deferrals and management of change requirements to ensure process and personal safety
6. Delivers with safety, cost efficiency and quality assurance embedded in the plan

• Coordination:

1. Continuous engagement with Supply Chain, , Logistics, suppliers, and contractors to ensure maintenance job readiness for maintenance execution.
2. Coordinates all technical input from Operations, Discipline Engineers, Technical Authorities, and Senior Maintenance Engineers for the development of PM/CM work orders packs, minor plant changes and major repairs
3. Responsible for requirements needing coordination with Logistics, Operations, Discipline Engineers, etc.

• Perform maintenance (Preventive and Corrective) of HVAC packages including controllers, transmitters, etc., including but not limited to intrusive and non-intrusive maintenance (Cleaning, parts replacement, leak testing and function testing)
• Perform repair of HVAC packages including but not limited to brazing, parts replacement, etc.
• Perform condition monitoring and assessment of HVAC packages
• Can perform work preparation/work planning of work orders via CMMS
• Perform SCE-related testing for LQ, Workshop, ECM, and LER in SWP as well as ACMV, Substation Building, and Metering Houses in OGP
• Execute maintenance activities in accordance with the COMPANY's safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Able to effectively work or coordinate with other teams or projects of the COMPANY
• Supervision or assistance to specialist vendors/contractors in performing major maintenance activities for HVAC Systems
• Safe and efficient implementation of turnaround and minor plant modification activities

Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in COMPANY maintenance reviews and audits
• Contribute to operational insights to improve reliability, procedures, and cost effectiveness
• With good problem-solving skills which include pain point processing, root cause analysis, lessons learned, and equipment performance evaluations
• Validate existing Preventive Maintenance Plan and optimize for better execution.
• Able to raise MOC for needed changes in the existing system.

THE INDIVIDUAL

Education & Certifications:

• Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience in Oil and Gas industry is an advantage
• Knowledge in work preparation, scheduling and execution (WPSE) process
• Knowledge in O365 application including Power BI and Power Automate
• Knowledge in SAP or equivalent CMMS

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of HVAC maintenance experience in oil & gas or petrochemical facilities.
• Proven track record in maintaining HVAC systems

Skills & Competencies:

• Deep understanding of oil and gas HSE practices, permit systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintenance of HVAC systems including basic troubleshooting and repairs in HVAC components like Motors, Dampers, Instruments, etc.
• Tubing installation and maintenance
• Working with basic workshop tools like lathe machine, drill, milling machine
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and P&IDs

Leadership Capabilities:

• Able to lead and supervise maintenance campaigns
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially during SIMOPS or emergency response situations.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to remote location, harsh weather, confined spaces, high-pressure systems, and elevated work areas
• Physically demanding tasks performed in compliance with offshore safety and PPE standards.
• Participation in regular drills, emergency preparedness, and training programs is mandatory.

Shift schedule:

• SWP: 14/14 or 21/21 or 28/28 – shift rotation
• MOGP: 5/2 (Will be On-call on weekends)
• Open to a two (2) year contract
