The Medical City Ortigas is searching for an experienced Materials Planning Specialist to join the team and help lead the organization to the next level. This role is responsible for planning, forecasting, and managing the supply of medical, surgical, and non-medical materials to ensure uninterrupted patient care. This role supports hospital operations by maintaining optimal inventory levels, coordinating with clinical and non-clinical departments, and working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of supplies.
What's The Role All About?
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Planning, monitoring, and maintaining optimal inventory levels for medical, surgical, pharmaceutical (non-clinical handling), and general hospital supplies based on demand forecasts, historical usage, and patient volumes
- Generate and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders in compliance with hospital policies, while tracking open orders, resolving discrepancies, and following up on backorders or delays
- Coordinate with approved vendors to ensure timely delivery, correct quantities, quality compliance, contract adherence, and support vendor performance evaluations
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the hospital ERP or materials management system and prepare reports on inventory turnover, usage trends, variances, and cost savings
Who Are We Looking For?
An effective Materials Planning Specialist must possess the following skills:
- Inventory: Manage inventory and follow existing procedures
- Inventory control: Carry out a range of inventory-control activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role
- Supplier Management: maintain day-to-day contact with business-critical suppliers and respond to complex incidents with suppliers or supplies/services to analyze performance and provide feedback on key supplier management indicators
Ideally, a candidate must be a graduate of any bachelor's degree in Business or other related courses, with at least 3 years of working experience in healthcare organizational management
