Senior IT Consultant Job Description: Riverstrong is seeking a motivated Sr. IT consultant to contribute to our growth within an MSP environment supporting small businesses. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive technical expertise, encompassing consulting in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, M365, and Azure cloud services. You will provide consultation on cutting-edge technologies, ensuring high standards throughout the customer engagement and IT solution implementation lifecycle. Additionally, you will aid in developing environmental assessments into roadmaps and plans. You will explore ways to upgrade existing customers' technology and collaborate with your team to transform these improvements into product and service sales opportunities. A background in IT Managed Services, including experience as an Senior Infrastructure Engineer and a track record of satisfied customers and successful implementations, is essential.

● Design, develop, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain small-to-mid size business IT network, server, virtualization, and Microsoft Azure/365 technologies.

● Perform IT/Network Assessments, analyze data, and create client documentation to explain technical concepts and recommendations to non-technical business owners.

● Design pre-sales solutions and develop technical proposals, including determining the required level-of-effort for the project.

● Develop standards for technology, documentation, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, best practices, delivery processes, templates, protocols, and training assets.

● Support multiple customers via ticketing system as a Managed Service Provider IT consultant

● Configure, monitor, backup, secure, and implement firewalls, switches, wireless access points and other Cisco based networking devices.

● Build, troubleshoot, migrate, and maintain physical or virtual Microsoft Server/VMware vSphere infrastructures hosted on-prem or Azure cloud with Active Directory/Entra ID domains

● Be the highest level of technical resource able to take and resolve escalations from the Support and L2 Engineering Teams

● Expert-level IT architecture, engineering, project implementation, and troubleshooting for core IT infrastructure. This includes network technologies (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls) and essential infrastructure systems such as:

● Active Directory/Entra ID

● VMWare hypervisors, Azure Local, virtualization

● Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, M365)

● Windows OS, Powershell, Linux is a plus

● SAN, vSAN, and other storage technologies

● Data Backups and disaster recovery

● Data Center services, Dell Server ecosystem

● Take ownership of IT projects and work with the project team to deliver the scope of infrastructure SOWs.

● Ensure redundancy, availability, and security of networks or server infrastructure from vulnerabilities

● Keep current on the latest technologies innovations and determine the best investments for the business and our clients

● 5+ years of professional services consulting experience in IT, security or network systems, server management support, or network administrator positions preferred

● Advanced experience in the following: Network architecture, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, APs, Network Assessment Tools, Wireshark, Nmap, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Active Directory, M365, and Azure environments

● Advanced experience with Windows Server, virtualization VMware/Hyper-V, AWS, perimeter security, vulnerability/penetration tests, and security protocols

● Advanced experience of M365, Google Workspace, Mac/IOS, Android, Windows desktop OS, or any typical end-user technologies

● IT industry-specific credentials/designations a plus (Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Amazon, VMware, CISCO, ITIL, etc.)

● ConnectWise PSA and RMM experience preferred

● Experience with ITIL, incident management, problem management, and disaster recovery

● Ability to utilize multiple resources to determine root causes and resolutions of technology problems and incidents

● Certifications are preferred: o Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP o Microsoft AZ-800/801, AZ-305, MS-102, SC-100
