- Degree/Diploma in Technical Designer, Design Engineer, Discipline Engineer or Technician with AutoCAD skills.
- 2-3 years design and drafting experience in marine / offshore industry.
- Experience from technical work in the marine, offshore industry is of advances.
- Ability to read, understand and make detailed drawings for structures, outfitting, piping, mechanical or electrical systems as well general arrangements, etc.
- Understand the principles of drawings numbering, revision control, validation and approval processes.
- High degree of proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD-related software, graphics software / hardware and communications software.
- Work independently both individually and with groups.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ensure awareness and follow the DCC policies, guidelines, procedures, work instructions incl. training materials to process document efficiently with internally and externally.
- Ensure familiarization of drilling rig and drillship specifications, equipment, components and systems.
- Conduct new and/or modify existing CAD drawings/sketches as requested by engineering discipline such as but not limited to updating miscellaneous drawings pertaining to hull, primary structure, outfitting, secondary structure, piping/mechanical systems, electrical schematics/diagrams, instrumentation, general arrangement /regulatory type plans, safety plans, etc., based on shipyard/project/operations/vendor and Noble drawings.
- Generate/update CAD drawings for Engineering, Projects, Construction, Regulatory Compliance and Operational purposes to meet requirements for submission to Classification Societies and Flag / Coastal States.
- Maintain, record and follow a standard traceable filing and number system of drawings and associated documents for future reference.
- Handling requests (e.g., revision request, document registration, etc.) and check for correct meta data structure, as per SFI and system registration and to ensure an accurate file location, process and workflows.
- Prepare drawings / sketches for Marketing / Technical presentations / brochures / proposals / bids, etc., for new and existing MODU designs / modifications as assigned by Engineering management.
- Liaise with operations, project teams, in-house EDM Team and vendors as required to ensure accuracy of Noble design drawings.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and usage of Noble's CAD, Structural, Piping / Mechanical and Electrical Standards.
- Utilize AutoCAD system to its full potential and ability to fully navigate, save, print and issue drawings.
- Utilize network plotters, sized drawings and use network printers / photocopiers to print sized drawings in both black / white and color formats.
- Submit progress / activity reports, and other administrative items, as directed.
- Travel offshore or to shipyard projects for rig surveys as required. Overseas travel will be required.

Summary:
Technical Design Officer (TDO) as part of engineering Document Control Center (DCC) support the organization within drawings of following disciplines for drilling units.
Structural Drawings.
Mechanical & Piping Drawings.
Electrical & Instrumentation Drawings.
Compliance, General Arrangement, Fire & Safety Drawings.
Assistance in developing and revising conceptual AutoCAD drawings for new and existing assets. Coordinate with Team Lead, discipline engineers, project and technical management and operations with drawings as per guidelines provided. Generate support to structure, maintain and manage drawings within the discipline of Structural, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical & Compliance. Maintain and execute engineering drawing control, CAD drawing rules and procedures.

Conduct review on external design firm's drawings to comply with Noble CAD standards prior to issuing drawings.
Review re-lining change request and incorporate in existing drawing, including revision control function.
Ensure accurate and timely production of drawings for the departments and/or requestors of CAD drawings for projects or operations.
