- Installing MSSQL Server versions and applying Service Packs, Cumulative Updates.
- Experience in Azure SQL database- DB creation, Providing Access, Maintenance, Job configuration, Elastic pool configuration, Cost governance, Decommission, Trouble Shooting DB performance activities.
- Creating new instances and verifying all instances are up and running as per the checklist/build sheet.
- Implementation and maintaining HA's & DR's
- Implementation of database maintenance plans and backup automation. Managing Backups and restoration on as and when required by application team and fixing orphan users.
- Creating jobs, alerts for failed backup, errors, warnings, rebuild indexes, update statistics, DB growth trend.
- Creating users and providing access to the database and maintaining system security. Creating user defined schemas as per Application/Development team.
- Writing store procedures/PowerShell scripts.
- Creating user databases and ensuring file group creations and also ideally placing files in appropriate locations.
- Implementation of SQL logins, Roles and Authentication modes as part of security for various categories.
- Performing Database health checks, Data Consistency Checking through the DBCC commands.
- Ensuring user database server connectivity issues and troubleshooting connection issues.
- Notifying client about downtime according to planned updating/maintenance.
- Creating indexes on tables to improve the performance as App/Dev team instructions.
- Monitoring disk space of all servers and freeing up space.
- Monitoring logs for successful execution of all specified jobs and reviewing SQL Server and Agent error logs.
- Preparation of User manuals and technical documents for the project.
- Experience Linked server configurations.
