    An Intake Case Manager is expected to:
    • Answer inbound calls and communicate with patients, doctors, and Health Insurance companies via phone, fax, and email.
    • Receive, process, track, and prioritize prescription orders for home medical equipment with speed and accuracy.
    • Contact physiciansu0027 offices and other facilities to request prescriptions, progress notes, and other necessary medical information for order processing.
    • Enter patient demographic data accurately into the system.
    • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Provide ongoing customer support.
    • Process referrals received from physicians for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and perform basic data entry to create sales orders.
    • Conduct phone consultations to educate new patients on the order process and gather demographic, insurance, and qualifying data for order completion.
    • Perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification.
    • Review medical records to ensure medical necessity complies with health insurance requirements for the specific DME being ordered.
    • Contact physiciansu0027 offices or other facilities to request additional clinical documentation if required by the insurance payer.
    • Coordinate with patients, families, healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and internal staff to facilitate order completion.
    • Perform electronic clerical duties such as emails, copying, filing, and faxing PDFs as needed.
    • Observe and enforce company policies and ensure HIPAA compliance.
    What it takes to be part of our team:
    • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or any health-related field, or equivalent experience accepted commensurate with job requirements.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Proficient in computer-related tasks.
    • Familiarity with Brightree web software.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote).
    • Familiarity with SharePoint (a plus).
    • Experience with Adobe Acrobat PDF or equivalent PDF software.
