Responsibilities:

The Sustainability Specialist supports our commitment to sustainable practices across all our businesses. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating sustainability initiatives, facilitating sustainability programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations and certifications. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the environment and sustainability, we invite you to be part of our team.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and report on sustainability performance, including waste management, energy consumption, and water usage and carbon emissions
Coordinate environmental audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
Promote ESG awareness and engage employees in sustainable practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into daily operations
Help research the commercial viability of sustainable solutions and implement them as needed
Stay informed about emerging sustainability trends and explore opportunities for innovation and improvement
Liaise with external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies
Educate employees in sustainability initiatives and foster engagement across the business
Drive employee engagement and awareness programs to promote sustainable practices

Required Qualifications & Experiences

Z Register Level 3 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or above - At least two years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
Administration and Coordination experience in sustainability and environment
Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (including writing) and ability to engage and motivate employees towards sustainable practices
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Self-starter who can work independently
High level of organisation skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously but also collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong knowledge in any programming language preferred
