Position: R&D Assistant
Work Setup: Mon to Sat - Onsite
Role Summary You are the foundational support system of the R&D laboratory. While the Formulator drives the formulation strategy, you are responsible for keeping the R&D engine running smoothly. This role focuses on preparing bench-scale experiments, maintaining lab equipment, organizing raw materials, and assisting in the evaluation of powdered beverages, supplements and beauty products.
Prior experience specifically in food/beverage product development is an advantage for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Bench-Scale Support: Prepare ingredients, equipment, and workstations for the Formulator to execute experiments for new formulations.
- Sample Preparation & Sensory Evaluation: Assist in preparing product prototypes for sensory testing, ensuring accurate measurements for flavor, texture, and solubility evaluations.
- Lab Maintenance & Inventory: Keep the laboratory organized and ensure all equipment (such as pH meters, refractometers, blenders, and particle size analyzers) is properly cleaned and calibrated. Track raw material inventory and request replenishments.
- Data Collection & Documentation: Perform precise data collection during experiments and assist in maintaining general R&D documentation, analytical testing logs, and stability program records.
- Scale-Up Assistance: Support the Formulator and Production team during pilot batches and commercial runs, helping to monitor blending and powder processing.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a closely related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic theoretical understanding of Food Chemistry, Processing Techniques, and Food Safety standards.
- Lab Skills: Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, refractometers, blenders) and safe lab practices.
- Equipment Experience: Theoretical knowledge of laboratory equipment operation is required for this position.
- Execution: Demonstrated ability to follow precise instructions for experiments, conduct careful data collection, and maintain accurate records.
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to keeping a clean and efficient workspace.
