BASIC FUNCTION:
The Underwriting Assistant provides technical support by way of an immediate review of the outputs of the branch in relation to the processing of applications for the insurance coverage in all lines such as Fire, Motor Car, Personal Accident , Marine and other Casualty lines. He/She is also responsible for the provision of clerical and administrative support, in the issuance/encoding and recording of pertinent data and safe keeping of accountable forms regarding insurance and surety issuance.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the manager in entertaining queries from agents, clients and other matters pertaining to All lines of Insurance, information on the Company's products and services and its operating guidelines on insurance coverage.
Receives / Reviews appraisal reports, applies appropriate rates and discount, clauses and warranties upon consultation with the Head and computes for premium according to endorsed / approved policy schedule, on new and renewal accounts.
Reviews correctness of computations of premiums applicable to applications for
insurance and surety coverage, clauses and warranties, and adherence to the
established underwriting rules and regulations on policies, endorsements, cover
notes, certificates of cover issued by authorized writing outlets and effects and
monitors corrective measures on violations and deviation, per established
Underwriting Rules and Regulations or upon instructions of superiors.
Types polices, endorsements, renewal notices , and other related documents
Takes charge to encode, record endorsements, renewal notices and other related documents and information on the insurance/surety coverage and in the index cards.
In-charge of the filing and safekeeping of all used and unused policies, bonds, cover notes, endorsements, Certificates of Cover, Invoice/Statement of Accounts, clauses, warranties and other documents relative to issuance of policies. As custodian of accountable forms, she is also responsible in initiating requisition of such forms.
Prepares and maintains Policy /Endorsement Bordereaux, and submits Monthly production report to Head Office.
Prepares statistical reports as maybe required by management
Prepares monthly renewal notices and other such standard forms.
Performs other related functions as may be assigned by the superior from time to time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php16, Php20,000.00 per month
