    JOB SUMMARY:

    Runs the day to day operation of the radio station, and is tasked with hitting audience, revenue and output requirements.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    o   Oversee the administrative, technical, program and sales aspects of the radio station.

    o   In charge of the various departments, arranging the on air staff schedules, organizing advertising and promotional opportunities, maintaining the industry regulations and guidelines set for the station and dealing with any complaints swiftly.

    o   Hiring, training and evaluation of employees, as well as providing communication between departments and other human resource functions.

    o   Responsible for the success and profitability of the station and help determine and meet the financial goals of the station.

    o   Work with accountants and bookkeepers to trach purchases, cash flow, and profits; prepare budgets; and maintain accountability.

    o   Participate in fund-raising events and work closely with sales managers and advertising sales staff.

    o   Must have enough technical knowledge to understand the operation of all station equipment and make decisions regarding the purchase of new equipment that may follow industry trends.

    o   Ensures that employees follow the station's mission and goals and works to increase listenership through creating an exciting on air sound and brand.

    o   Run the entire operation of the radio station and ensure that the station is profitable.

    o   Have overall control in the format and brand style of the station and work closely with the programme director/controller to set the stations on air sound.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    o   Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism, Music, business management, or a course in marketing, advertising and media

    o   5 years experience in broadcasting or any related industries

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

    o   Ability to communicate with a wide range of constituencies

    o   Knowledge of radio market, different station and programme styles, and audience demographics sound editorial, business and finance skills

    o   Ability to motivate, coach, lead and train others in the team

    o   Excellent communication skills and business management.

    o   Updated with trends in the radio industry as well as technological developments

    o   With training courses in business management to help in their promotion aspects
