Job description
A Radiation Therapy Nurse (RT Nurse) is a vital position in the radiation therapy. They are individuals who provides supportive care to the patients undergoing radiation treatment. It is imperative that they undergo training in nursing, along with a specialist training in oncology.

They would need to be well-informed about radiation procedures, in order to assist the patients and relatives with initial fears, other than to clarify misconceptions arising from communications from technical and medical staff.

He/she must have sufficient knowledge and skills that should be develop in radiation therapy to accurate assess and intervene. He/she serves as "the cornerstone of patient advocacy, extensive symptom management and patient education regarding complicated treatment regimens". )


EDUCATIONAL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
a. Must have a four-year bachelor degree in the nursing field

b. Must be a licensed nurse with an updated license

c. Logistic reasoning to be use in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to different problems

d. Can communicate well b

e. oth in oral and written form

f. Must have a know-how in clerical works especially in regards to documentations and records

g. Must be keen and accurate in assessment and examination of the patient's declared condition

h. The ability to identify if something is wrong or might go wrong (sensitivity)

i. Must be extremely patient to all people he/she is dealing with


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
v Preferably to have worked in a medical background for at least one years

v Extensive knowledge in ICD codes is an advantage

v The ability to communicate and coordinate with all medical staff and doctors
