    Role Overview

    The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The role involves supervising accounting staff, reviewing transactions, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for analyzing financial information and producing management reports for internal and external reporting and decision-making purposes.
    • Information analyzed includes inventory, costs, revenue, expenditure, cash flow, profitability, operating performance, and budgets.
    • Supervise daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
    • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Supervise, train, and support accounting staff.
    • Allocate work, set priorities, and monitor deadlines.
    • Review team output for accuracy and compliance.
    • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
    • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
    • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
    • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
    • Work closely with other departments on accounting-related matters.
    • Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
    • Assist with system improvements and accounting process automation.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA) are an advantage.
    • Minimum 7 years in related field
    • Background and experience in large format retail
    • Willing to work in Makati City, Philippines
    • Experience in accounting roles with supervisory responsibilities.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
    • Experience with accounting systems and MS Excel.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.

    Desired Skills:

    • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
    • Experience supporting audits and tax filings.
