Responsibilities
Cost Estimation:
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects in compliance with Australian standards and regulations.
Project Collaboration:
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with project requirements.
Budget Management:
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular cost analysis reports to management and stakeholders.
Documentation:
Maintain organized and comprehensive documentation of estimates, contracts, change orders, and other project-related records.
Vendor Relations:
Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Industry Knowledge:
Stay updated with industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory updates relevant to residential construction in Australia.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and efficiency enhancements within the estimating and budgeting processes.
Communication:
Effectively communicate with internal teams, external stakeholders, clients, and regulatory authorities as required.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field. Equivalent industry AU experience may be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in residential construction estimating, preferably with exposure to Australian building practices and codes.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Planswift, Cubit, or similar tools commonly used in the Australian construction industry.
Strong knowledge of Australian Building Codes, Standards, and Regulations applicable to residential projects.Analytical Abilities:
Skilled in quantitative analysis, cost modeling, budget forecasting, and variance analysis.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
Attention to Detail:
Keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in cost estimates, documentation, and financial reports.
Team Collaboration:
Capable of working collaboratively within cross-functional teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
