Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategiesTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions, and maintain supplier relationships
Invite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements
Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
Address staffing resource needs and supervise purchasing clerks
Keep informed of current developments in the field of purchasing, prices, market conditions and new products
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
Assess, manage and mitigate risks
Supervise the inspection of all supplies, services and equipment purchased to insure conformance with specifications
Maintain a bidders' list, vendors' file, and such other records as are needed for the efficient operation of the purchasing function
Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
