JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our legal and finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, particularly within the financial sector, and will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in mitigating risk, maintaining ethical standards, and fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and interpret laws, regulations, and industry guidelines pertaining to financial services, ensuring that the organization always remains compliant.
• Collaborate with legal and finance teams to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to the organization's specific needs and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
• Establish monitoring mechanisms to track compliance activities and report findings to senior management regularly. Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required by relevant authorities.
• Investigate compliance issues, irregularities, and breaches, and develop and implement corrective actions and remediation plans as necessary.
• Evaluate and enhance internal controls related to compliance processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in compliance efforts.
• Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, providing necessary documentation and support throughout the process.
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and other external stakeholders, representing the organization on compliance-related matters.
• Stay abreast of changes in regulations and industry best practices, proactively recommending updates to policies and procedures to maintain compliance effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) preferred.
• Proven experience in compliance roles within the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to practical business situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate compliance concepts to various stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Sound judgment and integrity, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of compliance within the organization.
