Job Description

Seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Electrician (UG Equipment) to perform a full range of electrical maintenance, repair, and service activities on underground fixed plant equipment and drill rigs with considerable independent judgment in deciding with minimal supervision to ensure equipment availability in a quality, cost-efficient, environmentally, and safe manner. The role will report to the Supervisor-Electrical (UG Equipment).

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Ensures compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment policies and procedures
• Participate in Identifying hazardous working conditions and safety problems through a risk assessment process
• Take actions to correct reported unsafe work practices and conditions
• Take full accountability in taking care of personally issued safety equipment and devices such as locks, lockers, and others
• Ensures the safe operation of UG Fixed Plant Equipment and UG Drill Rigs by conducting Preventive Maintenance as required and troubleshooting any malfunctions
• Coordinate with the Leading Hand and or Supervisor for any tools and materials needed in performing his duties and responsibilities
• Undertakes electrical installation of fixed plant equipment
• Performs tool-keeping and housekeeping duties and takes accountability on issued and toolroom tools and equipment to ensure they are kept tidy, safe to use, and complete
  
  

Qualifications

• Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Corp. Values and the OceanaGold Way
• Registered Master Electrician and/or graduate of Technical Vocational course with sufficient experience
• With Trade Certificate relate to electrical
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Electrical practice
• Preferably with experience in maintaining Underground Electrical Equipment
• Experience in High Voltage Terminations and Switching is highly regarded
• With a valid Professional Driver's License
