    The Category Manager – General Merchandise is responsible for managing diverse merchandise categories to achieve sales growth, margin targets, and efficient inventory turnover across multiple product lines.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement category strategies for general merchandise

    • Manage end-to-end buying, assortment planning, and vendor management

    • Analyze sales data, demand forecasts, and market trends

    • Optimize pricing, promotions, and inventory turnover

    • Coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain for timely replenishment

    • Manage seasonal assortment planning and product lifecycle

    • Prepare regular performance and forecast reports for management



    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field

    • 5–10 years experience in general merchandise retail or buying

    • Strong understanding of merchandising principles and inventory planning

    • Experience managing multiple categories simultaneously

    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

    • Advanced MS Excel skills; ERP/POS experience is an advantage
