    We are hiring a highly detail-oriented HVAC Takeoff Specialist to support a fast-moving estimating team. This role is critical to producing accurate bids and protecting project margins. If you understand HVAC systems deeply, can read mechanical drawings with precision, and have hands-on experience using digital takeoff tools — this role is built for you.

    This is not a beginner role. We are looking for someone who can step in, analyze plans confidently, and deliver precise quantity takeoffs under deadline pressure.

    Compensation: Up to $8/hour

    Schedule: Full-time

    Work Setup: Remote

    What You'll Do

    • Review HVAC plans, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications
    • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (ductwork, piping, fittings, equipment, diffusers, insulation, etc.)
    • Use digital takeoff software to measure and quantify materials accurately
    • Prepare structured takeoff spreadsheets for estimating review
    • Clarify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and design intent with estimators
    • Maintain organized documentation of revisions and bid files
    • Support vendor pricing requests and material updates
    • Deliver highly accurate outputs within strict deadlines

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
    • Minimum 2+ years of HVAC estimating or drafting experience
    • Strong understanding of HVAC materials, systems, and installation standards
    • Proven blueprint reading ability (mechanical sheets, schedules, specs)
    • Experience with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar software
    • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple bid packages simultaneously

    Preferred Experience

    • Commercial and residential HVAC projects
    • Familiarity with US construction standards
    • Experience in design-build mechanical environments
