This Junior Full-Stack Developer is an early-career engineer with strong React/TypeScript foundations and growing backend capabilities. The role focuses on building frontend features, fixing bugs, maintaining APIs, and steadily expanding into backend development with NestJS and Python. This individual is expected to be hungry to learn, proactive in seeking feedback, and committed to becoming a well-rounded full-stack developer. They will receive mentorship from senior team members and are expected to leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate their learning and output.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 Frontend Development

Build and maintain React/TypeScript components and pages based on design specs and technical requirements.
Fix frontend bugs, address UI inconsistencies, and improve existing component behavior.
Implement responsive layouts using Tailwind CSS or styled-components.
Integrate frontend components with RESTful APIs – handle data fetching, loading states, and error handling.
Write unit tests for components using Jest and React Testing Library.

2.2 Backend Development (Growth Area)

Build simple NestJS API endpoints – controllers, services, DTOs, and validation.
Write and modify database queries in PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Contribute to Python scripts for data processing, file handling, and automation tasks.
Maintain and update API documentation.
Learn and apply authentication, authorization, and security best practices under guidance.

2.3 Learning & Growth

Actively participate in code reviews – learn from feedback and apply improvements consistently.
Use AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.) effectively to boost productivity.
Attend knowledge-sharing sessions and proactively study the team's tech stack.
Maintain clean Git hygiene – meaningful commits, proper branching, clean PR descriptions.

Participate in daily standups and sprint ceremonies; communicate progress and blockers clearly.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

1–2 years of React/TypeScript development (internships + professional experience count).
Solid JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals – ES6+, async/await, promises, type system basics.
Basic backend understanding – can read and modify code; understands REST API concepts.
Python basics – scripting, basic data manipulation, comfortable reading Python code.
SQL fundamentals – SELECT, JOIN, INSERT, UPDATE; basic schema understanding.
Git proficiency – branching, merging, pull requests, conflict resolution.
AI tool adoption – actively uses AI coding assistants and LLM tools for learning and development.
Eagerness to learn – proactive, curious, takes feedback well, self-motivated.
Good English communication – can write clear messages and participate in team discussions.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Employment: At least 6 months contract; renewable or possible conversion
Work location: Trident Tower, Makati
Setup: Hybrid for the first 2-3 months ( Onsite on Tues & Wed, then WFH for the rest of the week to be able to adapt environment & with the team) Thereafter, will be working remotely.
