Job Description

Be part of our client's team as a Solar Engineer (SAA Qualified Engineer) and design PV and BESS systems aligned with Australian standards. You will create detailed electrical drawings, conduct yield and shading analysis, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, high-performance renewable energy solutions.

The Expertise We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field
• Solar Accreditation (CAA) and SAA (Solar Accreditation Australia) qualification required
• 3-5 years of experience in solar PV system design, preferably within the Australian market
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, solar design principles, and battery storage systems
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD with experience producing detailed technical drawings
• Proven experience designing systems compliant with Australian and AS/NZ standards
• Experience with Pylon software is an advantage
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a small team environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Key Responsibilities

• Design photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in compliance with AS/NZ standards, Clean Energy Council (CEC) requirements, and Australian regulations
• Develop electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), panel layouts, and stringing diagrams
• Perform system yield calculations and shading analysis to optimize system performance and efficiency
• Ensure all engineering designs meet technical specifications, Australian standards, and client requirements
• Prepare technical documentation and supporting materials for project proposals, tenders, and project execution
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to refine system designs and resolve technical challenges
• Deliver high-quality engineering outputs within agreed timelines and project deadlines
• Work autonomously while maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders
