    A Mechanical Draftsman/Designer/Engineer is expected to:

    The mechanical draftsman/designer/engineer (employee) will be responsible for creating drawing sets and building the corresponding 3d models. The employee must have previous experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP and Revit and be able to create new models and drawings from scratch.

    The industry of work is manufacturing infrastructure consulting. Typical components to be modeled in AutoCAD MEP by the employee will include 3d Piping (including valves, flanges, taps, etc), Cooling Towers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Boilers, HVAC, Pumps, Piping, Tubing, Cable Tray, Duct Work, etc.

    Additionally, the adjacent building infrastructure will also need to be modeled in Revit by the employee. This would include Building Slab, Reinforced equipment foundations, Building Walls (CMU, Tilit Panel, IMP), Doors, Windows, Building Steel, Columns, Roof Joists. Structural steel modeling for Cooling Towers Supports, Pipe Bridges, Pipe Support Stands. Common materials will be Square HSS Tubing, I-Beams.

    The employee must also be able to create construction drawing sets in AutoCAD MEP and Revit.

    The employee must be able to create 2d PID and PFD drawings of piping/tubing/ducting systems. The PIDs will include equipment blocks, valves, meters, etc. The employee must be able to create equipment and instrument lists in Microsoft Excel. The employee should also gather submittal data and compile for submission to Facility Owner/Installing contractor.

    The employee must be able to participate in Video Conferencing Design Review Calls. These calls will either be internal, just Thirsty Horse, or sometimes with other vendors, engineers or the end user/facility owner. The calls will be facilitated by a Principal Engineer at Thirsty Horse. A professional demeanor is required.

    What it takes to be part of our team:
    • Mechanical Engineer Degree or Equivalent Qualification
    • Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP and Revit
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
    • Ability to communicate via email in a professional manner
    • Ability to call vendors and contractors as required to gather information and answer questions.
    • Ability to read schematic drawings and create 3d models
