Audio visual technicians installs, set up, operate, maintain and repair equipment used to enhance live events, meeting rooms, such as but not limited to microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment.
Primary Role:
- Installation & Integration: Mounting projectors, TV monitors, speakers, cameras, and microphones.
- Wiring & Fabrication: Pulling, terminating, and labeling cables (HDMI, XLR, CAT6) and building AV equipment racks.
- System Configuration: Programming control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron) and calibrating audio/video signals for optimal performance.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Testing components to ensure functionality and diagnosing/repairing technical issues during or after installation.
- Project Documentation: Following blueprints and site drawings to complete installations on schedule.
- Spearhead implementation : Preconstruction to turnover of project handled.
- Maintenance: Troubleshooting and problem-solving of hardware and software
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of audio, video, and control system signal flow and troubleshooting techniques.
- Offering plans: Recommendation to create BOM as per site condition.
- Tools Proficiency: Experience using hand/power tools and specialized equipment like cable testers and signal generators.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 35 kg, climb ladders, and work in varied environments.
- Experience: 1–3+ years of field experience in AV installation or related low-voltage trades.
- Bachelor's Degree: in EE or ECE - preferred
- Audio DSP : Calibrations and controls
- Competence: Video conference, broadcasting, audio and control systems
- Processing control: Routing, and audio video signal flow with broadcast software.
- Understanding: AV technologies and IT systems on a technical level
- Awareness : Latest trends, hardware, and features in AV equipment, Interpersonal, delegation, and teamwork skills., ability to clearly understand to and respond to needs as communicated by other members of the team.
