Job Summary

We seek a talented Web Design & Development Specialist specializing in WordPress, other Content Management Systems (CMS), Graphic Design & Illustration, and Photo Editing. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in web design and development principles, a keen eye for aesthetics, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences and visual content.

Key Responsibilities

Web Design

• User Interface (UI) Design: Create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that enhance user experience.
• User Experience (UX) Optimization: Conduct user research and usability testing to refine website layouts and navigation.
• Responsive Design: Ensure all websites are fully responsive and optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
• Brand Consistency: Develop designs consistent with clients' branding guidelines and visual identity.
• Wireframing and Prototyping: Produce wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas effectively.
• Graphic Integration: Incorporate graphics, animations, and multimedia content seamlessly into web pages.

Web Development

• Front-End Development: Implement web designs using CMS page builders and possibility of injecting HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and related front-end technologies.
• Back-End Development: Customize WordPress themes and plugins using PHP to meet specific project requirements.
• E-Commerce: Familiarity with WooCommerce and other builders for e-commerce solutions.
• CMS Management: Install, configure, and manage websites on WordPress and other CMS platforms like Joomla and Drupal.
• Web Builders: Experience with popular page builders like Elementor, Divi, or Beaver Builder.
• Website Optimization: Optimize website performance, including loading speeds and SEO best practices.
• Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensure websites function consistently across all major browsers.
• API and other Integrations:
• Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed (Google, Social Media, etc).
• Integrate Google platforms such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager into websites.
• Monitor and analyze website performance using Google tools to provide insights and recommendations.
• Set up and configure Google My Business profiles where applicable.
• Security: Implement security measures to protect websites from vulnerabilities and attacks.
• Knowledge in setting up SSH/FTP/SFTP

SEO Responsibilities

• Keyword Research & On-Page Optimization: Identify target keywords and implement them into web pages (titles, meta descriptions, headings) for improved search engine visibility.
• Technical SEO: Conduct regular audits (site speed, mobile-friendliness, crawlability), implement schema markup, and address technical issues that may affect rankings.
• Content Optimization: Collaborate with writers or content teams to ensure content is SEO-friendly and follows best practices for headings, internal linking, and keyword placement.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze organic search traffic, keyword rankings, and user engagement using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO platforms.

Graphic Design & Illustration

• Design engaging graphics for websites, social media, and marketing materials.
• Create illustrations and visual concepts to enhance brand identity.
• Collaborate on developing branding materials including logos, icons, and infographics.

Photo Editing

• Edit and retouch photos for use on websites and marketing collateral.
• Ensure all images meet quality standards and are optimized for web use.
• Manage and organize the image library for easy access and retrieval.

Collaboration

• Work closely with design and marketing teams to translate project requirements into functional websites and visual assets.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas.

Maintenance and Support

• Regularly update and maintain existing websites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website and graphic-related issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure websites and visual content are optimized for speed and SEO.

Quality Assurance

• Test websites for functionality and fix any bugs.
• Ensure consistent branding and design standards across all web and graphic projects.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in web design and development.
• Proficiency in WordPress is essential.
• Experience with other CMS platforms is a plus.
• Proven experience in graphic design, illustration, and photo editing.

Technical Skills

• Front-End Frameworks: Familiarity with frameworks like Adobe XD, Bootstrap or Foundation.
• CMS Software: Extensive knowledge and experience with WordPress and familiarity on Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, and other CMS platforms.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar design tools.
• Familiarity with responsive and mobile design.
• Skills in creating vector graphics and digital illustrations.
• Understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
• Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of WCAG guidelines to ensure websites are accessible to all users.
• Presentation Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Apple Keynote for creating compelling presentations.
• Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Project Management Tools: Familiarity with tools like ClickUp or similar for task management and collaboration.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to debug and resolve technical issues efficiently.
