The General Accounting Specialist is responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, financial integrity, statutory compliance, and accurate reporting. The role ensures timely recording, reconciliation, and analysis of financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

- Prepares accurate and complete journal entries, accruals, and adjustments aligned with accounting standards.
- Maintains general ledger integrity and ensures proper account classification.
- Produces timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reviews financial data for inconsistencies and resolves discrepancies proactively.
- Demonstrates strong understanding of financial statement structure (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
2. General Ledger Management & Reconciliation

- Performs regular reconciliation of bank, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts.
- Identifies and resolves variances with strong analytical judgment.
- Maintains supporting schedules and ensures audit-ready documentation.
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of posted transactions.
3. Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Control

- Verifies invoice accuracy, approvals, and compliance with internal controls.
- Ensures timely billing, collections, and payment processing.
- Monitors aging reports and follows up on overdue balances.
- Reconciles vendor and customer statements.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

- Prepares and supports tax filings (VAT, withholding tax, and other regulatory requirements).
- Ensures compliance with local financial and statutory regulations.
- Maintains proper documentation for audits and government submissions.
- Coordinates with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.

- Applies internal control procedures to prevent financial discrepancies.
- Ensures compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
- Flags financial risks and recommends corrective actions.

7. Systems & Process Efficiency

- Utilizes accounting systems / ERP efficiently (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Identifies process gaps and recommends improvements.
- Supports automation and standardization of accounting workflows.
- Maintains structured financial documentation and reporting tools.
8. Communication & Stakeholder Coordination

- Communicates financial information clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Coordinates with internal departments for financial data and documentation.
- Responds promptly to audit and management inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA is an advantage (not required depending on level)
- 3–6 years experience in General Accounting / Financial Reporting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
- Experience in ERP / accounting systems
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
