- Maintain accurate financial records through full-cycle bookkeeping, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring general ledger accuracy.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and year-end financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
- Manage journal entries and adjustments during month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee key accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Process payroll-related entries and ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare 1099 forms and support audit readiness by maintaining well-organized and accurate financial documentation.
- Evaluate and enhance existing accounting procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Provide financial insights and tailored reporting through ad hoc analyses and support on client-driven projects and strategic initiatives.
- Minimum of four years of experience in accounting, including managing the financial close process and overseeing key accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least six months of experience working remotely for a company based in North America, Europe, Australia, or the UAE, preferably within an accounting firm.
- Experience in processing payroll entries, ensuring tax compliance, preparing 1099s, and maintaining accurate records for audit readiness.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms used by small businesses.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Suite or Google Workspace (Sheets).
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a results-driven mindset and a commitment to achieving goals.
- Experience in employee relationship management and performance evaluation techniques.
