JOB SUMMARY

The Site Engineer/Project Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring construction and land development projects to ensure timely, cost-efficient, and quality completion in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and company standards. The role involves coordinating with project managers, contractors, and internal departments to ensure that all works comply with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Project Planning and Coordination
Assist in the preparation and implementation of project schedules, work plans, and resource allocation.
Review engineering plans, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with approved designs and project objectives.
Coordinate with surveyors, geodetic engineers, and design consultants to ensure data accuracy and efficient project planning.
Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Planning, SCM, QA/QC) to resolve technical and operational concerns.
Site Supervision and Execution
Oversee and manage daily construction and land development activities, including site clearing, grading, roadworks, drainage, utilities, and structural works.
Monitor site progress and ensure that work is completed according to approved plans, schedules, budgets, and safety standards.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality and compliance with technical and safety requirements.
Enforce safety rules and standards to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Implement quality assurance and control procedures to ensure that all materials and workmanship meet specified standards.
Conduct testing and inspections of construction materials and finished works (e.g., soil compaction, drainage systems, roadworks).
Identify non-conformances and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Review contractor practices and recommend improvements or remedial measures to ensure project quality.
Contractor and Resource Management
Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
Validate and review contractor billings, change orders, and progress claims.
Determine and monitor resource requirements, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
Coordinate with the Logistics Division for timely delivery and availability of required materials and supplies.
Cost and Budget Monitoring
Assist in monitoring project expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Prepare cost estimates, bill of quantities (BOQ), and bill of materials for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising project quality and safety.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly accomplishment reports, site status updates, and documentation of work progress.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, material deliveries, test results, and contractor correspondences.
Ensure that turnover documentation, punch listing, and project close-out reports are properly prepared and submitted.
Stakeholder Coordination
Communicate regularly with the Construction Manager, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Assist during technical inspections, turnover processes, and coordination with government agencies (LGUs, banks, etc.).
Respond promptly to project-related issues, complaints, and queries from management or external stakeholders.
Other Duties
Conduct toolbox meetings and promote adherence to safety and operational policies.
Perform other related functions as may be assigned by immediate superior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred)

Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in construction or land development projects (roads, drainage, utilities, and earthworks). Experience in QA/QC or horizontal construction is an advantage.

Competencies and Skills:

Strong understanding of construction methods, site development processes, and land surveying principles.
Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
