    Accounts Payable Specialist

    We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Shared Services Team. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and financial transactions while supporting continuous process improvements.

    Key Responsibilities

    General Duties


    • Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services


    • Sort and match invoices and cheque requests


    • Ensure all transactions comply with financial policies and procedures


    • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry and set up invoices in the system for payment


    • Enter invoices for payment; process cheque and voucher cancellations


    • Manage the fortnightly cheque run


    • Reconcile payments and accounts


    • Prepare account analysis


    • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies


    • Maintain the Accounts Payable ledger and reconcile with the General Ledger


    • Keep supplier files updated; communicate with suppliers and respond to inquiries


    • Prepare monthly financial reports


    • Assist with month-end closing activities


    • Process overseas payments and reconcile inter-company accounts


    • Coordinate with branch office staff to ensure effective AP operations


    • Maintain and update process maps and work instructions related to daily AP activities

    Continuous Improvement & Support


    • Deliver improved customer service and add value to the Shared Services Team


    • Provide recommendations to the Financial Controller for more efficient and timely processes


    • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required by the business
