    Job Summary

    The General Manager provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the company, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient management of the fleet. This role requires hands-on operational knowledge, strong leadership, and extensive experience in both offshore and shore-based marine management. The position is accountable for organizational performance, financial sustainability, corporate governance, and acting as the company's representative to clients, regulators, and the industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership & Governance

    • Develop and execute corporate vision, mission, and long-term strategies.
    • Translate Board-approved strategies into operational plans, performance targets, and budgets.
    • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
    • Represent the company to shareholders, regulators, clients, and industry partners.

    Fleet Operations & Ship Management

    • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient management of all vessels.
    • Maintain full compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC 2006, Flag-State, and Port-State requirements.
    • Oversee major incidents, emergencies, and operational decisions.
    • Conduct regular vessel inspections (minimum twice annually).
    • Optimize operational performance, safety, and cost efficiency.

    Financial Oversight

    • Review and approve budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure cost control, cash flow management, and financial sustainability.
    • Identify financial risks and opportunities in consultation with Finance leadership.

    Policies, Processes & Systems

    • Develop and implement corporate policies, procedures, and management systems.
    • Ensure continuous compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
    • Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the organization.

    People Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing workforce ashore and at sea.
    • Approve recruitment, promotions, and succession planning initiatives.
    • Establish a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Licensed Marine Engineer (mandatory).
    • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Marine Science, Nautical Science, Maritime Transportation, or a related field.
    • 10–15 years of management experience in ship management or maritime operations.
    • Proven track record in both offshore operational roles and shore-based leadership positions.
    • Experience with tanker operations, oil & gas shipping, or maritime logistics.
    • Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and ship management standards.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Formal management and leadership training.
    • Experience in oil & gas or tanker vessel operations.
    • Exposure to corporate governance, fleet performance, and strategic planning in maritime companies.
