    GEODETIC ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION

    As the Geodetic Engineer, you will work closely with the Business Development Manager and Senior Project Managers in overseeing and managing the full cycle of the project development process, including planning (feasibility/research studies, and environmental assessments), land and geodetic surveys, offer applications and connections, and stakeholder liaison.

    You must:

    • Demonstrate informed judgment when making recommendations regarding survey methodologies, referrals, and proposals.
    • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills during the presentation and deliberations of the project.
    • Manage resources, time, and organizational skills to meet deadlines, solve problems, prioritize tasks, follow through on projects, and document results.
    • Have the ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of data-driven and geospatial information quickly and accurately and make sound recommendations.
    • Be an active role model and constant resource to the organization, within and without.
    • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently on projects with limited input and oversight.
    • Knowledgeable in the rules and regulations of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) concerning Land Survey Manuals, Implementing Rules and Regulations, and other reference materials.
    • Able to operate and show results using Computed - Aided Design (CAD), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
    • Able to conduct surveys using survey hardware such as Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Total Stations and other EDMs, drones with optical, multi/hyperspectral, LiDAR payloads, and Digital Levels among others.
    • Travel and fieldwork are a must.
    • A good team player and able to work in a team of different cultures and personalities.

    You will also perform the following tasks, using your geospatial and survey acumen:

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of short and long-term strategies for developing new renewable energy (RE) projects.
    • Work towards identification and evaluation of RE project opportunities, assist in the development and implementation of feasibility/research studies, data collection, site inspections, land surveys, environmental assessments, and secure regulatory approvals.
    • Coordinate with internal technical, financial, and legal teams and other stakeholders to implement and accelerate all project-related work leading to a decision on investment as per internal procedures.
    • Create project plans, maps, project resource planning and oversight, managing projects to success, tracking, maintaining, and where appropriate mitigating scope, issues, risks, change, configuration, and project financials.
    • Conduct various land survey procedures such as relocation, verification, topographic surveys to determine ground elevation-dependent inputs, survey grids, property boundaries, terrain, slope, aspect, areas, and other outputs from survey data and information.
    • Assess RE projects using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) tools and methodologies using either proprietary or free and open source software.
    • Fly safely, conduct and model drone surveys using Photogrammetric concepts and methods.
    • Verify the mathematical and legal accuracy of collected survey data.
    • Assess the quality of control data to determine the need for additional survey data to be used for the engineering and construction of various RE projects
    • Conduct records management activities and perform historical and legal land ownership research.
    • Prepare estimates and proposals for project implementation, project reports, and submissions for regulatory compliance to land surveys and other survey works.
    • Develop and maintain necessary personal networks with stakeholders at different levels that affect the successful development of specific projects such as relevant government agencies and local authorities, local councils and communities, landowners, as well as environmental groups, industry associations, technical consultants, operators, utility service providers, and suppliers.
    • Solicit, prepare, evaluate contracts and proposals, and review consultant contracts for technical compliance.
    • Take on administrative tasks as they occur, such as taking minutes of meetings, preparing relevant documents including project briefs, letters, reports, developing PowerPoint presentations, assisting with logistics for travel/site oculars, and the like.
    • Keep up to date with legislation and environmental standards in order to make sure projects, systems and processes comply.
    • Perform other duties and functions as needed assigned by the Senior Project Managers, the President, or by Management.â
