- Has completed at least 3 years of a 5-year BS Electrical Engineering Program; or
- Has completed a 3-year Electrical Engineering program in an engineering school recognized by the PH government and in addition has a subsequent record of 1 year of practice in electrical wiring and installation;
- Has graduated from a 2-year electrician's course of instruction or vocational school and in addition has completed a 1-year of apprenticeship after completion of course;
- Maintains current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations;
- Connect wires to the circuit breaker, transformer, and other components;
- Repair and replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools;
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools;
- Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices to ensure safety and compatibility;
- Plan, layout, and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixture based on job specifications and local codes;
- Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with regulations;
- Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and systems using testing equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem;
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of the wiring and equipment to ensure conformity with building and safety code;
- Installs ground leads and connect power cables to the equipment when needed;
- Works from ladder, scaffolds and roof to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring equipment and fixtures;
- Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment is hazardous;
- Assists during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators;
- Provides preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services; and
- Performs other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time;
