    As an AU Senior Bookkeeper, you will manage full-cycle bookkeeping for Australian clients, ensuring accurate financial records, compliant tax reporting, and reliable month-end close processes. This role is designed for experienced professionals with at least 5 years of hands-on Australian bookkeeping experience, including BAS/IAS preparation and TPAR reporting for reportable industries. Through Emapta, you'll collaborate with global teams while building long-term career growth in Australian accounting operations within a stable, permanent WFH setup.

    Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

    • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Australian bookkeeping experience (non-negotiable)
    • Proven experience preparing BAS and IAS reports for Australian businesses
    • Experience compiling TPAR data for reportable industries
    • Advanced Xero experience (Xero Advisor Certification)
    • Hands-on experience with Dext and third-party accounting integrations
    • Strong experience managing complex reconciliations, multi-currency transactions, and inventory accounting
    • Strong Excel or Google Sheets proficiency, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
    • Excellent written communication skills for professional client correspondence
    • Diploma in Accounting or higher
    • Available to start immediately

    Key Responsibilities

    End-to-End Australian Bookkeeping

    • Manage daily bookkeeping activities including bank feeds, transaction coding, and ledger maintenance.
    • Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring proper GST treatment and compliance with Australian accounting standards.

    Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

    • Process supplier invoices through Dext and manage accounts payable workflows.
    • Issue client invoices, monitor receivables, and follow up on outstanding balances.

    Complex Reconciliations

    • Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, payment gateways, and multi-currency wallets.
    • Reconcile inventory movements, cost-of-goods accounts, and balance sheet accounts.

    Month-End Financial Close

    • Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, depreciation entries, and FX revaluations.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and finalize month-end reporting.

    Australian Tax Compliance

    • Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS reports.
    • Compile and prepare TPAR data for reportable industries.
    • Ensure accurate GST treatment across transactions.

    Fixed Asset & Financial Management

    • Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation schedules.
    • Ensure assets are reconciled with the general ledger.

    Systems & Automation

    • Configure and maintain Xero integrations with third-party applications.
    • Support improvements in financial workflows and automation processes.

    Client Communication

    • Communicate clearly with clients regarding bookkeeping queries, reconciliations, and financial updates.
    • Provide accurate documentation and financial explanations when required.
