• Maintaining and updating departmental policies and procedures as mandated by the Department of Health (DOH)
• Prepares the monthly schedules and the assigned staff during the absence of the staff for approval of the Deputy Director
• Ensures quality control guidelines are followed
• Handle client technical calls
• Supervises the maintenance of laboratory records and reports
• Prepares and submits a monthly report of the laboratory in a timely fashion.
• Oversees preventive maintenance procedures for laboratory equipment promptly to the Facilities Director
• Report any malfunction of equipment to the appropriate individual as soon as possible
• Directs and advises laboratory technologists in special test procedures
• Plans, coordinates, and supervises personnel activities
• Assists with the financial management of the department
• Develop and recommend potential solutions for laboratory issues or problems
• Represent the laboratory department in the monthly administrative staff meeting and all other meetings
• Prepare all necessary documents for the renewal of the license to operate and maintain the clinical laboratory
• Oversee and train medical technology staff/s and medical technology intern/s
• Develop and recommend policies, procedures, rules, and protocols for laboratory services and implement them as approved,
  
  

• Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in line with hospital quality programs (e.g., Safecare, DOH, etc.) requirements
• Ensure a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to infection prevention and control protocols such as but not limited to handwashing, wearing of PPE, etc
• Commit to sustainable and eco-friendly work practices by minimizing waste, optimizing resource usage, and actively participating in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship
  
  

• Minimum Education Required: : Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from a qualified, recognized institution.
• Licenses/Certifications required: Current PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) license
• Minimum Experience Required: At least 2 years' experience as a Medical Technologist in a hospital environment preferred
  
  

• Strong analytical and documentation skills
• Strong communication skills, especially with those of different cultures
• Comfortable using medical technologies and lab equipment
• Broad knowledge of basic chemistry techniques
