    Our client is a well-established Northern Beaches engineering consultancy with nearly 30 years of experience and 40+ staff specialises in Structural, Remedial, Stormwater, and Civil engineering for residential developments.

    The Role

    Reporting to the CAD Manager, you will join a collaborative and supportive team delivering civil drafting services across residential developments. This is a mid-level, hands-on Civil Draftsperson role primarily focused on residential driveway design, along with broader civil site drafting responsibilities. You will work closely with engineers to interpret engineering mark-ups and convert them into accurate, construction-level documentation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare detailed drafting for residential driveway designs (primary focus)
    • Draft civil site works including roadways, car parks, grading, and site layouts
    • Produce stormwater and drainage drafting layouts
    • Interpret engineering mark-ups and translate them into compliant construction drawings
    • Ensure documentation complies with Australian Standards (particularly AS 2890) and council requirements
    • Use AutoCAD (2D drafting) daily to produce high-quality plans and sections
    • Work within 3D civil design software (e.g., Civil Site Design, 12D, or similar platforms)
    • Maintain accuracy, quality control, and consistency across all drawings
    • Communicate clearly with engineers and raise issues early when clarification is needed
    • Deliver projects within agreed deadlines and support urgent time-sensitive work when required

    Non-Negotiable Requirements

    • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in Civil Drafting (driveways, roadways, car parks, or civil site works)
    • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting) – mandatory
    • Experience using 3D civil design software (Civil Site Design, 12D, or similar)
    • Demonstrated experience in residential driveway design
    • Ability to prepare stormwater and drainage drafting layouts
    • Proven ability to interpret engineering mark-ups independently
    • Solid understanding of Australian Standards, particularly AS 2890
    • Experience working on Australian civil projects
    • Strong English communication skills
    • Demonstrated employment stability and long-term commitment

    Additional Skills (Highly Regarded)

    • Stormwater design (beyond drafting layouts)
    • Site grading and bulk earthworks experience
    • Road design and services coordination
    • Exposure to UK/US/European standards (if Australian experience is limited)
