- Work closely with the Project Managers to drive project performance and ensure that high quality financial decisions are made
- Provide objective financial advice and opinions that positively impact the future of the project and associated plan
- Challenge spend plans and take a proactive role in looking for opportunities to deliver services more efficiently and effectively
- Investigate opportunities as well as high risk and material financial issues, or problem areas, on the projects. Develop and propose solutions and options to resolve / progress concerns to a satisfactory outcome
- Support the Project Managers in assuming financial accountability by providing local coaching and training to improve financial confidence and competence across the Business Units
- Work closely with the Commercial Team to provide forward looking insight and challenge, adding demonstrable value through delivering business insight
- Review financial performance information and plans, (prepared by the Project Manager) - including the Financial Plan, Budget and Forecast, to ensure they are robust and accurately reflect key project issues
- Ensure good cost control and cost management behaviour on projects. Promote good financial disciplines, and risk management processes
- Ensure a robust and effective internal control framework and compliance environment exists across the project and addresses risk management processes
- Ensure accounting processes on projects (billing, management of revenue and capitalisation of projects) are disciplined and effective
- Oversee tax reporting, payroll and transactional processing (AP, AR, Intercompany, Cash Management etc) to ensure full local compliance
- Become an ambassador to encourage the adoption and use of Oracle ERP. Work with the Oracle Support Centre and the Group and International functions to ensure seamless implementation.
- Completed a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- CPA required.
- At least 8+ years of experience in finance and accounting with multinational companies.
- Prior experience in implementing the use of Oracle ERP system and change management.
- Prior experience working with a multinational construction company or international stakeholders is an advantage.
