    Founded almost a decade ago, we have completed over 200 search assignments for our clients, which include leading alternatives investment managers, asset managers, hedge funds, insurers, and investment banks.

We use technology extensively and we're looking for someone who thrives in a tech-enabled, fast-paced environment where AI and modern tools are part of the daily workflow.

    The Role

    We are hiring a full-time experienced Research & Operations Associate to support our London-based team with research, sourcing, CRM management, market mapping, interview scheduling, and administrative tasks. This is a remote, full-time role (40 hours per week) with the potential to grow as the business scales.

    You will report directly to our Head of Strategy and work closely with our team. Your work will directly impact the quality and speed of our executive search delivery and is a critical role within our organization.

    We are looking for someone who is not just comfortable with AI and technology, but who actively embraces it. You should be proficient in using AI tools to work faster and more efficiently; whether that's using AI to accelerate research, clean data, draft communications, or streamline repetitive tasks. We want someone who knows how to successfully leverage technology to deliver a high volume of quality work, quickly and accurately.

    This role is ideal for detail-oriented operators who thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in keeping recruitment operations running seamlessly.

    Key Responsibilities

    CRM Data Management (30%)

    Maintain the accuracy and quality of our CRM database. This includes updating candidate records, deduplicating entries, ensuring consistent tagging by sector, seniority, and geography, enriching contact information, and tracking search pipeline status. You will need to understand context; this isn't simple data entry. You will be reading notes from consultants, understanding which fields matter, and maintaining a clean, reliable database that the whole team depends on.

    Candidate Research & Sourcing (25%)

    Build initial long lists of candidates for active searches by reviewing existing CRM database, LinkedIn profiles and company websites. For each candidate, capture: name, current title, firm, years in role, and brief background notes. You'll be looking at investment professionals; portfolio managers, analysts, strategists, structurers, across credit, fixed income, insurance, and macro. Our team will review and upgrade your lists, so accuracy and attention to detail matter more than speed here.

    Market Mapping Support (15%)

    Map teams at target firms: identify every relevant professional in a specific team or division, noting their title, approximate tenure, and reporting line where visible. This supports our market mapping deliverables for retained search clients and requires systematic navigation of LinkedIn and company websites and our CRM.

    Competitor & Market Monitoring (15%)

    Monitor job boards (LinkedIn, archives, company career pages) for relevant postings in our practice areas. Flag team moves at target accounts. Maintain a simple activity log of competitor hiring patterns or implement new systems to operationalise. This intelligence feeds directly into our client reports and business development activity.

    Interview Scheduling & Coordination (10%)

    Coordinate and schedule interviews between clients and candidates via email across multiple time zones. This includes managing diary availability, sending calendar invitations, confirming attendance, and handling any rescheduling. You will need to be proactive, responsive, organised, and comfortable communicating professionally with senior investment professionals and client contact ensuring consistent, professional candidate experience at every touchpoint. You will also need to support any post interview coordination and feedback.

    Administrative Support (5%)

    Invoice status tracking and follow-up reminders (using templates). General scheduling support. Any other administrative tasks that free up the team's time for client-facing work including supporting team to polish and format documents and applying Laz Partners branding to ensure consistency in formatting, and prepare client-ready deliverables including market maps, candidate profiles, and search progress reports. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and clean document formatting is essential.

    Requirement

    • English Fluency - Fluent written and spoken English. You will be tested with a written exercise and a video call before any offer. This is the single most important requirement.
    • Experience - Minimum of 3+ years in one of: recruitment support/operations, executive assistant to a professional services firm, research analyst, or virtual assistant in a client-facing business. Previous experience working in financial services search would be a bonus.
    • AI & Technology Proficiency - Comfortable and proficient using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini) to accelerate your work. You should be able to demonstrate how you use AI and technology to research faster, draft communications, clean data, and increase your output. We want someone who sees AI as a core part of how they work, not an optional extra.
    • Technical Skills Hands-on experience with at least one CRM or ATS platform (Loxo, Bullhorn, Vincere, Recruiterflow, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar. Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills for tracking and reporting. Familiarity with teams, Zoom and scheduling tools
    • LinkedIn Proficiency - LinkedIn Recruiter working experience. Comfortable navigating LinkedIn profiles, using search filters, and extracting structured information from professional profiles.
    • Microsoft Office - Strong Word and Excel skills. Ability to produce clean, professional documents with consistent formatting.
    • UK Hours Overlap - Available for a minimum of 5–6 hours during UK business hours (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM GMT/BST ideal). Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision. Calm and organized under pressure
    • Reliability & Communication - Responsive, proactive, and comfortable raising questions when something is unclear. We need someone who communicates well to drive results.

    Preferred (Not Required)

    • Financial Services Knowledge - Understanding of financial services ecosystem and terms like "portfolio manager," "credit analyst," or "asset manager" means significantly less ramp-up time due to the highly technical space we operate in.
    • Executive Search Experience - You will understand our workflow from day one.
    • Canva or Basic Design Skills - Useful for helping format branded client deliverables.
    • AI Automation Tools Experience - Familiarity with tools like Zapier, Make, or AI-powered workflow automation is a plus.
    • Analytics - Tableau
