Job Summary:

As a QA Medical Abstracting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical abstracts within our healthcare processes. You will be responsible for conducting thorough quality assessments, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to enhance overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct comprehensive quality assessments of medical abstracts to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Develop and implement QA processes and protocols to maintain high-quality standards.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to abstracting team members to enhance their performance.
• Compliance Management:
• Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to medical abstracting.
• Ensure that all abstracting activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and other relevant standards.

Process Improvement:

• Collaborate with the operations team to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in medical abstracting.
• Implement initiatives to streamline abstracting workflows and enhance overall productivity.
• Training and Development:
• Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for new and existing abstracting team members.
• Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on changes in medical coding, compliance, and industry trends.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed documentation of QA processes, assessments, and improvement initiatives.
• Generate regular reports on QA metrics, performance trends, and areas for improvement.
