About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Residential Construction Estimator & Contract Administrator to support an Australian custom home builder specialising in bespoke single-dwelling projects.

This is a combined role requiring hands-on experience in both estimating and contract / pre-construction administration within a residential construction environment.

You will work directly with the Construction Manager and play a key role in pricing, procurement support, documentation management, and project setup.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings
Develop and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
Conduct cost planning and budget preparation
Obtain and compare subcontractor pricing
Perform trade comparisons and scope alignment reviews
Assist in contract preparation and documentation
Support procurement processes and purchase order preparation
Track, price, and document variations
Manage subcontractor compliance documentation
Assist with WHS documentation and pre-construction requirements
Support general project setup and pre-construction administration

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' experience in residential construction estimating
Demonstrated experience in contract administration or pre-construction support within residential construction
Experience preparing take-offs and BOQs independently
Experience handling subcontractor pricing comparisons
Exposure to procurement processes and purchase orders
Experience managing variations documentation
Familiarity with subcontractor compliance and WHS documentation
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings independently
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Willing to work full-time for an Australian client (remote setup)

Nice to Have

Experience supporting Australian residential builders
Experience in custom single-dwelling projects
Experience with estimating software (e.g. CostX, Buildxact, Cubit, Bluebeam or similar)
Experience working in offshore construction support roles
