- Assess scope, complexity, and timelines for engineering work
- Translate product goals into clear execution plans and delivery expectations
- Break down initiatives into technical tasks and coordinate work across engineers
- Make technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and scalability
- Review code and maintain strong engineering standards
- Represent engineering in planning and technical discussions
- Provide technical guidance and structure for early-career engineers
- Technically strong and comfortable being accountable for delivery
- Able to reason about unfamiliar codebases and systems quickly
- Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
- Clear communicator with engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Calm, structured, and reliable in fast-moving environments
- 5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience owning delivery for features or products
- Strong background in software engineering (backend or full-stack preferred)
- Experience building and maintaining production systems
- Prior experience estimating work and driving execution for features or projects
- Ability to read, review, and reason about production code
- Experience working with or guiding less-experienced engineers
- Experience with AI-enabled or real-time systems
- Background in SaaS or platform-based products
- Exposure to enterprise customers or production reliability concerns
- Familiarity with agile or iterative development practices
- Real ownership over how engineering work gets done
- Close collaboration with experienced engineers and leadership

The Role
We're looking for a Technical Lead to take ownership of engineering execution as our product and team continue to grow.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can assess scope and timelines, make sound technical tradeoffs, and guide a team toward predictable delivery. You'll stay technically involved while acting as the primary point of accountability for how engineering work gets planned and executed.
This is not a people-management role. It is a hands-on execution leadership role.
