    Senior Cost Accountant

    Job Type: Full-Time

    Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (with a 30-minute break)

    Timezone: Mountain Time

    Salary: $1,600

    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Senior Cost Accountant to lead cost accounting and inventory operations across our portfolio of curated global artisan brands. This high-ownership individual contributor role is responsible for managing perpetual inventory, average and standard costing, landed cost allocations, inventory reconciliations, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP. You will oversee month-end close activities, prepare financial reports and margin analysis, and collaborate closely with operations and the US-based Accounting Manager to strengthen inventory processes and drive financial visibility across multiple SKUs and brands.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Inventory & Cost Accounting (Primary Focus)

    • Manage perpetual inventory accounting for 2+ brands across multiple SKUs
    • Average costing: Ensure system accuracy for costing
    • Landed cost accounting: Track and allocate freight, duties, customs costs
    • Inventory reconciliations and variance analysis (monthly physical counts from 3PL)
    • Cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and margin reporting
    • Work closely with operations on inventory movements and adjustments

    Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

    • Execute full monthly close for 2+ brands
    • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Generate monthly financial statements and gross profit analysis
    • Partner with US-based Accounting Manager on reporting and special projects

    Compliance & Process

    • Ensure GAAP compliance for inventory accounting
    • Assist with annual audit (especially inventory sections)
    • Support sales tax and other compliance requirements
    • Identify and implement inventory process improvements

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • 5+ years progressive accounting experience
    • Strong cost accounting / inventory accounting background
    • Prior US accounting experience strongly preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Vlookups, complex formulas, data analysis)
    • Fluent English (written and verbal) - you'll communicate daily with US team
    • Strong understanding of US GAAP, especially inventory/COGS
    • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
    • Self-directed with strong ownership mentality
    • Own laptop/computer capable of running accounting software
    • Stable high-speed internet connection for remote work

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CPA or equivalent license
    • NetSuite experience (primary ERP)
    • Manufacturing, retail, or e-commerce inventory experience
    • Public accounting background (Big 4 or regional firm)
    • Landed cost, freight accounting, or import/export experience
    • Shopify, Stripe, or Ramp experience
