Job Summary
The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and providing accurate financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger entries
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
2. Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with BIR regulations and statutory requirements
- Prepare and review tax returns (VAT, income tax, withholding taxes, etc.)
- Monitor regulatory updates and implement necessary changes
- Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies
3. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis
- Recommend cost control measures and financial improvements
4. Internal Controls & Audit
- Establish and maintain internal control procedures
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
- Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions
5. Management Support
- Provide financial insights and reports to management
- Support strategic planning and investment decisions
- Lead and mentor accounting staff (if applicable)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- 100% on-time submission of financial reports
- Zero major audit findings
- Timely and accurate tax filings with no penalties
- Monthly financial closing within agreed timeline (e.g., 5–10 days)
- Budget variance maintained within acceptable threshold (e.g., ±5%)
- Improvement in cash flow management and cost efficiency
