    The Role: S&P Global Market Intelligence, the division of S&P Global (NYSE: SPGI) that provides essential intelligence for individuals, companies, and governments to make decisions with confidence, is searching for a Senior Specialist, Financial Analysis to support the Market Intelligence Finance Reporting Team. The senior financial analyst will play a key role in supporting the monthly close, day-to-day management of financial operations, prepare and distribute reports to key decision makers, and assist in special and strategic projects.

    The Impact: This position will work alongside the finance team to ensure all monthly financial reporting and analysis is delivered timely and accurately to facilitate decision making by management. In addition, this position will have the opportunity to drive business results by providing financial knowledge and expertise required for daily business operation.

    The Career Opportunity: The role offers the opportunity to gain a centralized view of S&P Global Market Intelligence Divisional Finance, with responsibilities focusing on financial reporting and analysis. There is a track record of advancement within the Market Intelligence Divisional Finance team and the broader S&P Global Finance organization.

    The Team / The Business: The S&P Global Market Intelligence Divisional Finance team consists of employees in Charlottesville, London, New York, and Pasig City. The immediate team of 3 are based in the US & UK. The Team interacts with other divisions and S&P Global Corporate as well.

    Your Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. CPA/MBA strongly preferred but not required. Knowledge of US GAAP preferred, 3-5 years' work experience in public/private accounting or finance department, strong skills in MS Excel, experience with Oracle Financials, Oracle Smart View, Anaplan, Ariba Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx and Workday is preferred.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the MI Finance Reporting team in the monthly accounting close and financial reporting process for Market Intelligence. Review, analyze and interpret monthly financial results, including compensation and headcount.
    • Support the budget and estimate process for MI's compensation, T&E, real estate, other divisional, corporate allocations, and management of Headcount.
    • Assist with preparation of presentations for senior management and SPGI Corporate (i.e. Quarterly Financial Review, Quarterly Business Review and Board of Director meetings).
    • Assist with reporting and process automation within MI Finance
    • Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects, department cross-training, and provide direct support to the MI Finance Reporting team on an as-needed basis

    Other Accountabilities:

    • Provide data, analysis, and operational insights during the monthly close, including compensation, real estate, corporate allocations and other divisional as well as headcount
    • Preparation of monthly reporting for review by Senior Finance and OpCo/Business Leadership to include various views (As Reported, Organic) to meet business needs and drive decision making
    • Perform ad hoc analyses as requested to help management make informed decisions regarding the short- and long-term objectives of the business
    • Alert management to accounting or operational problems and suggest actionable solutions.
    • Support digitization and process improvement by adopting LEAN principles, employing best practices, and leveraging technology
    • Provide thorough and accurate responses to Senior Management, Corporate and Audit-related inquiries

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. CPA/MBA strongly preferred but not required.
    • 3-5 years' work experience in public accounting or private accounting or finance department.
    • Knowledge of US GAAP or other similar accounting principles is preferred.
    • Demonstrate the investigative research and analytical capabilities necessary to provide the leadership team with the accurate and insightful interpretation of financial information.
    • Possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for operational and financial problems.
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability with an inquisitive mind
    • Ability to work independently and as a fully contributing member of a team
    • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
    • Must be flexible in shift schedule
    • Strong skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, IF functions, etc.), PowerPoint, Power BI and Tableau
    • Experience with ERP (Oracle Financials), Anaplan, Ariba, Workday and Alteryx or other database tools preferred
