Jaychel Delico

I am a licensed professional teacher with almost 5 years of experience in teaching English as a second language offline and online. I started teaching as a subject tutor to primary students during my college days until I finished my degree. After graduating, I pursued my teaching profession at MindMaze tutorial services for over a year. gaining experience in this tutorial service center have prepared me to enter ESL industry during the Covid-19 outbreak. Upon entering the field, I was pushed to expand my knowledge and develop my teaching abilities. I subsequently completed online courses to earn my TEFL and TESOL certifications, enabling me to work with students of all ages. I spent more than two years tutoring Japanese international students. One of the most valuable lessons I took away from my experience was learning to respect the cultures and practices of other nations and its people as well as emerging myself to their values in life. English conversations made me more positively aware of the feelings and emotions of other people. On the other hand, within those years that I've been teaching ESL to foreign students, I also took time to enroll to Caregiving Training believing that I won't end to being a TEACHER only but would like to explore things that I can handle. I took the Caregiving training for over 6 months and was able to obtain certifications for Basic Nursing Skills and Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support-CPR with AED training. For the year 2023, I experienced working in Japan as a caregiver but only for a short span. From my experiences working abroad, I gradually embarked the essence of a “caregiver” very seriously and such have devoted myself to the selfless care of all the clients I meet in the homecare facility. I take an approach that focuses on dedicating myself to ensuring not only the health of patients, but also their happiness. Throughout the time that I spent with over 30 clients, I ensure that they would always enjoy their time and daily activities in the facility. At my previous job, it was my pleasure to assist the patients to transfer them from wheelchair to their assigned chair before they get to enjoy their meals. I also happen to provide companionship and emotional support to elderly people when the we feel that we need to talk. I include doing light household chores such as laundry, housekeeping, and some assistance to my senior co-workers.
