• Work observing OHS rules adopted by the Company in accordance with all country legislation, company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, safety warnings, memoranda, circulars, etc. 
• Provide effective leadership and direction to the Gold Processing Plant operating personnel to meet production and product quality targets set by the Management team.
• Ensure that all site and government safety, health and environmental procedures and standards are followed by plant personnel and maintain close collaboration with the Loss Prevention department to ensure all workers are trained in safety and environment matters.
• Deliver the required results in production volumes, unit costs, and product quality to meet the budgeting and planning process objectives.
• Ensure efficient plant operations by directing and managing teams to identify and correct deficiencies, continuously seek and promote opportunities for operational improvements, cost reduction and technical innovation to maintain business profitability.
• Provide mentorship, guidance and coaching, leading to the growth and development of department employees.
• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets for the plant and provide key support for strategic planning initiatives.
• Optimizing plant and equipment utilization, liaising with maintenance to ensure delivery of prescribed service and maintenance levels.
• Ensuring sampling and metallurgical accounting are maintained in line with required standards.
• Identified process bottlenecks, opportunities and implementation of action plans.
• Lead process development projects for plant improvement, cost reduction and recovery/production increase. Feasibility determination of the process improvement projects, capital application, project implementation and commissioning.
• Provide the short, medium to long term operational and production direction for the Processing Department to ensure maximum and sustainable profitability of the business.
• Designs, leads & evaluates metallurgical test work programs to characterize & optimize metallurgical performance.
• Compiling and managing expenditure/capex according to the approved Planned Budget including the reconciling of monthly expenditure against Plans, advising adjustment where necessary.
• Developing and implementing changes in processes or team organization required.
