• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field
• Minimum one year of experience in medical coding, preferably with Epic, Cerner & Meditech EMR systems

Description of Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM codes for diagnoses and procedures as well as sequencing them on claims submissions.
The coder should have a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, disease processes along with an excellent working knowledge of surgery types including procedural terminologies (PT). The ideal candidate would also possess strong analytical skills enabling accurate determination when inputting codes using current manual code books released by the American Medical Association (AMA) covering all major aspects from hospital stays such as complications arising during treatments given pre/post admission days prior stay etc., before returning back into care facilities; likewise needs proficiency handling electronic health records software like Athenahealth Availity Workform!
