    Role Overview

    The Application Development Supervisor leads the analysis, design, development, and enhancement of applications that support SMIC's business operations. The role ensures high-quality, secure, and efficient software solutions while overseeing a team of developers and coordinating with business units.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and mentor application developers; manage workload, priorities, and performance.
    • Oversee design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications.
    • Ensure solutions meet SMIC standards for quality, security, and compliance.
    • Coordinate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
    • Support project planning, timelines, and resource allocation with IT leadership.
    • Conduct code reviews, ensure documentation, and promote development best practices.
    • Troubleshoot complex system issues and recommend improvements.
    • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Business Solutions teams for system integrations.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 5+ years total experience in application development; 1–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
    • Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and development frameworks.
    • Experience with SDLC, Agile methods, and version control tools.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
